What is the process for filing a claim?

Filing a claim can be a stressful and confusing process, which is why I'm here to help guide you through it.

The process for filing a claim can vary depending on the type of insurance you have and the Insurance provider. However, generally speaking, the following steps apply:

  1. If you're in an emergency make sure that you are okay. Then when you're ready, contact your insurance provider to report the claim. You can usually do this by phone or online, and it's important to provide as much information as possible about the incident that led to the claim.
  2. Provide supporting documentation: Depending on the type of claim, your insurance provider may require supporting documentation, such as a police report, medical records, or repair estimates. Make sure to provide any requested information promptly to avoid delays in the claims process.
  3. Work with your insurance adjuster: Your insurance provider will assign an adjuster to your claim who will work with you to investigate the claim and assess the damage or loss. Be sure to provide the adjuster with any additional information or documentation they request.
  4. Review and approve the claim settlement: Once your insurance provider has completed their investigation, they will provide you with a settlement offer. Review the offer carefully and make sure it covers the full extent of your losses. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to me for assistance.
  5. Receive payment: If you accept the settlement offer, your insurance provider will issue payment for the claim. The payment may be made directly to you, or to a third-party service provider if necessary.

Overall, the key to a successful claims process is to be proactive, provide accurate information, and work closely with your insurance provider and adjuster. As your insurance broker, I am always available to help you navigate the claims process and ensure that you receive the coverage and support you need.

What is a Declaration Page and how do I obtain a copy?

A Declaration Page is a full copy of your insurance contract between you and the current insurance company (not you and your agent) showing coverage terms, dates, coverage limits, surcharges, endorsements, exclusions, including the current pricing. Declaration pages can be obtained three ways:

1. You can call your current Agent/Broker's office or dial the 1-800 number to your insurance company and they will gladly send you a copy for your records on the spot. You can find your current insurance office/insurance company contact info on your Insurance ID Card or by Googling them.

2. You may already have a physical copy at home, if so, you are welcome to take pictures of it with your phone or attach a scanned copy. If you are taking pictures with your phone, please be sure that the pictures are legible and that all four corners of the document are included. Proof check your picture before attaching it, what you see is exactly what we see.

3. Lastly, if you are registered for online access with your insurance company, you can log into your account and access "Forms or Documents" to locate your "Declaration Page" also referred to as "Policy Copy" or "Renewal". Once located you can either download a PDF version and attach it here or you are welcome to use screen capture from your phone/computer.

Notice: *ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES PROVIDE THIS DOCUMENT TO YOU, THIS IS A LEGAL COPY OF YOUR CONTRACT WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY. OBTAINING A COPY OF YOUR DECLARATION PAGE DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR RATES IN ANY WAY, THIS IS A STANDARD DOCUMENT PROVIDED TO ALL CLIENTS EVERY 6-12 MONTHS.

If you are a brand new driver please follow the instructions on the "No Previous Insurance" tab.

Why do you need my Declaration Page?

Majdas Touch Insurance, Inc. is an Insurance Brokerage. We use your Declaration Page & Drivers License to obtain pricing on your behalf. We have access to 368 different insurance companies, we are licensed nationwide, and we act as a "personal shopper" of insurance. We obtain price quotes from all the available companies and find you the lowest prices with the best coverage, matching exactly what you have now, apples to apples. If we feel that you are under or often times even over insured, we will discuss coverage options with you at the time we provide you with the best pricing available. First, it is important to us to provide you with pricing matching "exactly what you have now", so that you can determine what your true savings are, and whether you want to sign up with us or not. If you obtain coverage through our office, our founder Majda Baltic will become your Agent of record meaning we will be your point of contact with whichever company you chose to proceed with regarding policy changes, proof of insurance copies, payments, coverage questions, claims, etc. The most valuable asset by doing business with us is that if your insurance company raises rates, or if you are ever unhappy with the carrier for any reason at all, we can always shop your rates time and time again. There is no limit to shopping and we get to remain your Agent for life - that is, if you will have us!

*Extra savings perk: Having proof of prior insurance gives us the ability to add an additional discount averaging about 30%!!!

Why do you need proof of my identity?

Insurance companies require us to verify the identity of the person who has a legal insurable interest in the item needing to be insured. If it’s a house, we need proof of identity for the person who is on the title of the home. If it’s a car, we need proof of identity from the person who owns the car. Acceptable proof of identity is a copy or a picture of the front of your drivers license or government issued ID (we do not need the barcode). If you want to add additional persons to be covered, for example a spouse or family member who is residing in the property or an additional driver, we need their information as well. If more than one person is listed on a title or ownership records, you can provide proof for only the ones needing to be covered. Without this information we cannot obtain prices on your behalf. We are pulling hundreds of quotes at the same time, for the same policy information, and auditing and compliance standards require us to have proof of your identity first in order to obtain pricing (to prevent fraudulent requests). The same rules apply to commercial insurance, if you are the owner of the business we need your proof of identity to help you.
